During this Quest, you are going to learn how to create, organize, use and save your bookmarks in the Cloud so that you can retrieve them no matter what computer or device you are on. You will begin by creating an account and adding the Diigo toolbar. Then you will learn how to save a bookmark and use tags to organize them. Finally, you will learn how to view and share your bookmarks so you are prepared to complete your assignment in Quest 4.
My Library: My library is where you can see, manage, and filter your bookmarks.
Bookmark: A bookmark is a hyperlink to a saved website address.
Highlight: To highlight is typically accomplished by pointing to the object with the mouse and dragging across to mark it.
Capture: Capture allows you to grab a portion of a web page and mark it with circles, rectangles, arrows, lines and text.
Floating sticky-notes: Floating sticky-notes are comments about an entire web page.
Anchored sticky-notes: Anchored sticky-notes are comments about highlighted text.
Tag: A tag is a keyword, term or description that is assigned, or that you assign, to a piece of information. A piece of information may have multiple tags.

1. Check with your teacher about which option you should follow
a. teacher created account or
b. student created account
a. Teacher created Diigo Account
Log in with a teacher created account if that is the option your teacher chose: Your teacher will provide you with a diigo account. Once you receive this information, go to diigo.com and log in to your account.
a. Click the Sign in button in the upper right corner of the screen.
b. Enter your given username and password. Then click Sign in.
c. Record your username and password in a safe location.
b. Student created Diigo account
Log in with a student created account if that is option your teacher chose: You will create your account. Go to diigo.com and choose Sign up.
a. Choose the free option.
b. Create a username. Do not include your real name.
c. Create a password. Make it powerful!
d. Record your username and password in a safe location.
Step 2: Installing the Diigo extension
Next you are going to add the Diigo extension to your browser. Watch the following video that shows adding it to Chrome (extensions are available for other browsers as well).
