Q4 Trouble Steps

8. Troubleshooting

This Quest has three alternatives, please check with your teacher about the choices.

  1. Create a Troubleshooting Tips assignment in Steps 1-4.
  2. Complete a Troubleshooting Breakout Challenge Review Activity.
  3. Do both of these.

Steps

1. Review Quests One, Quest Two, & Quest Three in Troubleshooting.

2. Create a list of a minimum of 10 technology-related issues that individuals may encounter and require assistance with. These issues can range from troubleshooting problems when things go awry to difficulties in understanding how to operate various technological devices (Please note that "technology" encompasses more than just computers, such as cell phones). The problems you identify don't necessarily have to be derived from the videos you viewed in this particular resource. To help you organize your thoughts, you can utilize Google Keep or Microsoft OneNote as excellent tools for note-taking.

3. Create a page that is called Troubleshooting Tips (in your portfolio, blog, Drive, or website). On this page you might include:

  • Images: Incorporate relevant visuals to enhance the visual appeal and engagement of the page.
  • Videos: Embed informative videos that demonstrate troubleshooting techniques or provide step-by-step guidance.
  • Links to helpful information: Include hyperlinks directing users to external resources, articles, or tutorials that offer additional assistance.
  • Tips and suggestions: Provide practical advice and recommendations that aid in resolving or preventing the identified technology problems.
  • Creative presentation: Explore various formats such as flowcharts, flyers, infographics, or videos to present the troubleshooting tips in an engaging manner.

4. Proper attribution: Ensure you appropriately credit the sources where you obtained the information, acknowledging the origins of images, videos, and other content used on the page. A video is provided below as an optional resource.

Here are a few resources to get you started with your search:

5. Try the Breakout Challenge next if assigned by your teacher.

A Digital Breakout may also be called a Digital Escape Room.

This is a web-based, game-like activity where students use clues to unlock a series of puzzles or activities to solve a challenge (or to escape a digital room).

Students frequently work together, (conference, or chat) as they work to locate and solve clues.
